As you can see, I'm more than a day behind again. Yesterday I didn't write at all because I felt like taking a break, and did some drawing instead. Today, I felt extraordinarily burnt out, and couldn't do anything much at all.

Over the weekend, I did some random character doodles and came across one that I felt would be useful for Anthropometry. At that point in time I knew I was approaching a part where I had no clue what I was going to do, which is a worrying notion to be sure, when writing to a deadline.

Quick drawings under cut )

I'm pleasantly surprised that this distraction yielded a useful result. Useful insofar as NaNoWriMo is something worth pursuing, heh.

I have a driving test in the morning. That's the scary development.

12:08 pm - Pray

...all ye Melbourne motorists. I am now a P-driver.

Truth be told, I'm hardly the most dangerous driver on the roads. Most people here either don't have the foggiest what the kaleidoscope of intersection lines mean and so habitually break road rules out of ignorance. The rest have graduated to actually not caring about it.

I sat my driving test at 1040, with a little bit of nervousness as I did want to pass first go (far more convenient, for starters). Some people think it's the be-all-and-end-all...that's teens for you, but I will admit it does appear to be quite the milestone. After all, it's what allows one to start driving unsupervised, which means that as far as more complex travel arrangements go, I have a much greater versatility. This means being able to travel nearly on demand (and then becoming much more concerned with where to score a park). It also means an instrumental part of my plan to begin teaching music and accompany is now complete, and I can now more actively seek out groups that do martial arts etc. (seeing as they're more active in the suburban areas).

Unusually, the tester was extremely friendly and gave me what could possibly have been the easiest route. I was expecting to have to reverse park but he had me swing into an angle-park right at the end and that was it (leaving me wondering for a while whether I had inadvertantly committed an instant fail!) Afterwards, I picked up my license (my photo is no exception to the rule and captures me in a state of perpetual bemusement. Augh.) I belatedly realised on the way home that they had given me a 10-year license that set me back a good $149.50 instead of the 3 year licence at $44.50...while instructing me to come to the office with $44.50. I don't recall asking for a ten year license. Come to think of it...I don't even know if I'm going to be in Australia in ten years' time!!!

But yeah. Now I have to go to a project meeting. I shall take public transport.
